1950s Montblanc Meisterstuck 142

Filler Type Piston-filler
Date of Manufacturer 1948-54
Overall Condition Example of vintage model in Very Good condition.
Nib Correct and perfect 14K original 4810 nib in Fine (F) size (matches filler knob marking). No plating loss to Platinum mask and all imprints are crisp. The feed is the flat early production style.

This nib is a nice writer, being smooth and nicely flexible.

Cap and Body Good condition with no cracks or significant scratches. There is a small, tasteful owner imprint on the body of the pen.. There is light surface wear and no apparent brassing. The center cap ring is slightly loose. This is an early model with a long ink window.

There is a small amount of resin shrinkage at the top of the cap. This is common in the resin used in the Montblanc Meisterstuck series of this period. The flaw is not immediately apparent upon initial examination.

Additional details This was the smallest and less-common model in Montblanc's post-war Meisterstuck line. It is superior to today's models due to its brass filling mechanism and better resin (more substantial feel and greater resistance to cracking). In addition, the nibs of this period are far better than today's.

This pen has excellent balance and is wonderful to use. This would make a wonderful daily writer.

Pen mechanics are fully functional, but needs a new cork to fill.

Length 12.5 cm closed
