Overall Condition Example of an interesting vintage model in Excellent condition.

Nib Correct and perfect original 14C flugelfeder nib ("wing nib") in Extra Fine (EF) size (matches filler knob imprint). All imprints are crisp and perfect.
This nib is a wonderful writer, with a tremendously flexible nib.

Cap and Body Excellent condition with no cracks, imprints or significant scratches. There is light surface wear on cap and body, and only a very small spot of brassing on the cap lip band. The clutch ring on the body is brassed, as is the case on every 25x pen that is used. This is due to the pressure cap rubbing the gold-fill off the clutch ring every time the pen is uncapped and/or capped.
This is a later-production model, as can be told by a lack of the traditional Montblanc imprint on the cap. Instead, the pen says "Montblanc 254" on the large cap lip band.

No pressure cracks in the cap, as is commonly found in this model.

Blue ink window is nearly completely clear.

Pen is fully functional and ready to use.

This pen has superb balance and is wonderful to use. This would make a terrific daily writer.
This was the middle model in Montblanc's second price-level product line of the mid- to late-1950s. The 25x line was an attempt to modernize the product line, and utilized Montblanc's first slip-cap design and non-traditionally shaped nib.
